Ross on Wye Youth Voices

From January 2026 P.O.V. will be in Ross-on-Wye to creatively consult and make content with young people aged 13+. As we’ve done in other rural towns and cities, we will use surveys, creative sessions and co-production with young people to find out more about growing up in and around the town, to ask what they think and feel about local issues and then platform what they say so their views can directly inform local planning, investment and decision-making.

We will talk with young people about a wide range of topics including the planned return of Ross Carnival, the development of the Enterprise Park (/employment and aspirations generally), and about how they use/want to use public spaces such as the skate park, Rope Walk, Market House and local parks. We will be having honest conversations about anti-social behaviour, safety, belonging and what helps them feel proud of Ross. By listening to a broad range of young people, we’ll be able to platform the views of many as well as those already involved in existing youth activity and previous budget / markets and events consultations.

This creative activity, delivered over a few months and in collaboration with you and other local organisations, will result in local young people feeling better connected to the town, which can impact ambition, confidence, behaviour and more. For the town and wider county, it’ll provide deliver a rich, evidence-based insight into what young people value, what worries them and what would make the biggest differences to them today.

The project culminates with a sharing event in June/July 2026, involving young people, that provides the whole community with practical, informed recommendations that can support future planning, funding bids and partnership working.
