Ledbury Listening
P.O.V. has been commissioned by the Ledbury Listening group to consult with young people aged 10-18 in Ledbury about their lives.
The group is made of up representatives from Talk Community, LEAF, LIAS, John Masefield High School, Herefordshire Council, Ledbury Rugby, Ledbury Poetry, Bosbury Primary, Ledbury Community Hub.
Earlier this we were surveyed more than 600 young people and ran some consultation days in the community. We took portraits of young people from the town and surrounding area, made zines and poems in response to some of the themes identified.
A small group of young people, who came together as the ‘Ledbury Listening Youth Panel’, look at the rich data in a bit more detail and, supported by P.O.V., will be making recommendations to Ledbury Town Council and other organisations working with young people in the town.
The recommendations are being revealed, with help from Ledbury Poetry’s Word Crew and Courtyard Youth Theatre’s Ledbury group, at a sharing event on Saturday 12 October at St Katherine’s Hall in Ledbury. It’s an opportunity for young people to come together with local councillors and decision makers to feedback their views about the town from their perspective.

Being involved in projects like this give young people privileged access to information, helps build confidence and gives the opportunity to advocate on behalf of others to improve things for the wider community.
