Levi
“Hereford is a unique place – it is a mixture of quite beautiful and bland.”
Levi is in his first year at Nottingham Trent University studying media and philosophy – he is loving the uniqueness of the course, it’s engaging and interactive plus the city is much more vibrant than Hereford. He moved to Hereford with his family when he was 7 from Guyana and found it really exciting as coming from a tropical country he had never seen snow before – he liked it until he realised how cold it was!
Levi is a long and triple jumper with personal bests of 6.5m and 13.5m respectively and went to Nationals when he was at school. It was frustrating at the time being involved in athletics in Hereford even though he loved it, due to the lack of a specialist jumping coach – he thinks had there been better facilities he would’ve progressed further and the retention of athletes at the club would’ve been much greater.
