Road safety and traffic

Crossing roads safely is a genuine, practical worry for many, especially around the dual carriageway and near John Kyrle High School. Potholes, speeding traffic and a lack of cycling infrastructure add to this. 

• “Can't walk to school safely because of dual carriageway” 

• “No transport into town that’s safe, bus stops on the A40 and have to cross the main road.” 

• “There are loads of potholes so on my bike if I hit one I will most likely fall off. The lanes are very thin and always having roadworks done to them” 

• “There’s no safe way to walk to school/town & I can’t see my friends that easily” 

• “There are no bicycle lanes” 

• “Some parts crossings and roads have blind spots and limited vision makes it worse”
